Born Harvey Goldstein in Philadelphia 1944, Brooks played on Bob Dylans Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde albums and became one of the most recorded session bassists on the folk-rock scene, contributing to albums by David Blue, Eric Anderson, Richie Havens, Cass Elliot, The Doors, the Al Kooper-Mike Bloomfield-Steve Stills Super Session, The Electric Flag and numerous others. Harvey retired to Israel in 2009.
